Research Board funding came at a critical time, allowing Yu to “bridge” a gap between grants. “If you don’t have any funding to continue to support your research, if you even stop for one year, then it’s pretty difficult to pick up again,” he says. “This is what the UMRB has been doing to support new investigators when they need this bridge funding.”
The UMRB does very well to support new investigators, especially at critical times when bridge funding is needed.
