Early Interest in the Field

Having attended a university without many research opportunities in biology, Zolman intended to graduate with a Ph.D. and concentrate mostly on college teaching. Ironically, she originally took a plant research rotation “just to show myself that I had done it, so I could say I had that experience.” In the process she discovered a new passion for research on plant studies.
