Collaboration and Student Involvement

Collaborating with a colleague in molecular genetics, Zolman is determining whether the same proteins acting in yeast also affect Arabidopsis thaliana. Graduate and undergraduate students working in her lab contribute to her research by characterizing mutants or completing independent projects. As she explains, “undergraduate research is a great experience for these students to be able to put on their resumes so they are able to go out and get jobs in the research field.”
