Slave Communities in Missouri
Instead of large plantations, Missouri slaveholders generally ran small farms that interacted with each other on a regular basis. As a result, the slave community expanded beyond a single property or owner.
Teaching and mentoring students takes a tremendous amount of energy. The UMRB allowed me to dedicate time to work on a book manuscript.
